Sailor Babo visits the Louvre!

On his second trip to Paris, Sailor Babo finally went to the Louvre.  Turns out a Friday afternoon in early December is a great time to avoid long lines, and the museum’s open Friday evenings, so he got to spend hours getting lost and unlost and seeing only a portion of all that’s there.

Because Funny Face is one of his favorite films, he made a beeline for Winged Victory of Samothrace.

There she is!

Babo of Samothrace!

While in the antiquities, he saw another marble celebrity…

oh hai Venus!

… as well as a painted one.

… and another one …

Babolisque!

He made some Egyptian friends, who offered to take him boating next time.

And when he entered an Assyrian room, he suddenly felt very small.

He also took a selfie in a temporary exhibit on art and dance/movement, curated by the recent artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet.

It was an enriching and exhausting day.  Sailor Babo returned to his rental apartment and met up with Brip and Moxy for madeleines and mini baguette butter cookies, before turning in early (and hopefully sleeping).  Bonne nuit!

Seeing art builds up an appetite. It’s articize!
