This is an extremely overdue post…we went out to L.A. back in October (!) to visit some friends but I’m just getting around to posting it now (at SBoB’s insistence, of course).
Here he is at the start of the trip. “This is comfy…we’re flying first-class, right?…we’re not?!”
He thoroughly explored the hotel, including the strange TV-like thing by the elevators.
“What the heck is this?”
“It changes color…maybe it’s a magical new dimension for cookies!”
“Get me out of this creepy hand!”
“Let’s go to the pool.”
“It’s so bright – fetch me some sunglasses!” (Laurie – I swear we took this before we saw your Hawaii vacation pics!)
Then we ventured out to get sustenance.
Then we did some shopping:
He couldn’t resist checking out the L.A. outpost of Charm City Cakes! You may be familiar with them from the (now canceled) Ace of Cakes show on the Food Network. 🙂
The next day we visited Paramount Pictures.
Sitting on the Forest Gump bench:
We also made it to LACMA.
Where’s Sailor Babo?
There he is!
“Let’s go see some art!”
“Why is this elevator so big?”
“And why is this comb so big?”
“And these billiard balls?”
“Ooh, Morris Louis!”
SBoB found a Surrealist masterpiece!
“I know it says it’s not a pipe, but I’ll try smoking it anyway…”
And that concludes our trip to L.A…we had to make a rather hasty exit from the city in order to be back on the East Coast before Hurricane Sandy arrived.
